A U.S. based science, engineering, and technology company has been a client of Vismo for several years and deploys the Vismo App on smartphone devices to monitor and protect employees when traveling around the world for business. Our client has experienced incidents where it was crucial to locate, monitor, and communicate with traveling employees who enter unsafe areas, whether they remain in North America or travel internationally to countries such as Mexico and Papua New Guinea.
One situation where Vismo was pivotal involved an employee working in a project site who needed to leave temporarily to take a flight back home and renew an expiring passport. In trying to do so, they quickly found themselves in an intimidating and dangerous situation with powerful individuals who demanded they stay and finish the job. To alert the client of the situation and ask for help, the employee activated the discreet Red Alert feature within the Vismo App.
Upon notification of the incident, the Red Alert feature automatically recorded 10-second audio clips during the incident and sent them to our client via the Vismo Secure Portal to provide a better understanding of the emergency. The Security Manager was able to identify their exact location, evaluate the situation from the audio and provide an appropriate response.
After contracting with a security team in the vicinity of the employee, the Security Manager identified the safest and quickest way for the employee to reach the nearest international airport, during extreme weather conditions, and communicate the route and vital safety updates in real-time to the employee and security team.
Fortunately, the employee was successfully guided to a safe location to meet the security team and continue their journey to the nearest international airport, with only two hours before the plane was due to take off. They were able to confirm their safety status and communicate with the Security Manager from within the Vismo App on their smartphone, using minimal battery power.
By utilizing the latest location tracking technology, our client was able to meet its organizational Duty of Care when the employee found themselves at risk and raised a Red Alert. The Vismo solution, all within one powerful platform, empowered the Security Manager to determine where in the world their employee was, access resources to send crucial safety directions and use two-way communication to stay in constant contact with the employee until they reached safety.
