Taybar Security is a leading SIA-approved security contractor with over 25 years of experience in the security sector, offering a wide range of services to the public, government, councils, commercial businesses, NHS, and over 700 schools and private residential clients throughout the UK.

Business Situation

With many security workers operating day and night, during adverse weather conditions and often alone in areas of increased risk, it was essential for Taybar Security to deploy a tried and tested solution to their staff that enhanced their security measures.

This is where Vismo helped.

Taybar Security was looking for a solution that was simple to deploy, reduces manual work for both managers and those needing the Vismo Locate & Protect App, and can scale with the business as they continue to grow. Necessary features included geo-fencing, a panic alert button, hourly routine check-calls, and a web-based monitoring platform that can be accessed by the Taybar Control Room 24/7.

How Vismo is Used

Taybar Security set up geo-fences to automatically trigger notifications when a Security Officer entered and exited a specific geographical area. Notifications are sent to the Taybar Control Room and relevant Operations Manager via optional SMS, in-app message and email. The details captured include the location address, date and time, and position details.

Taybar Security use the Vismo App to allow staff to perform hourly check-calls and to successfully monitor all Security Officers to manage and mitigate risk, whether they work alone, with others, stationed in one location or on the road.

A weekly report of check-call locations, time stamps and activities is sent to the Taybar team. This is used to ensure people and resources are being used effectively and to identify any potential productivity gains. This report is used to evidence best practices with the SIA.

Success Story using Vismo

In one instance, the Control Room received an alert that a Security Officer exited a geo-fenced area unexpectedly. The team was quickly notified of the situation and was able to contact the individual to confirm their safety status. It transpired the work phone that was assigned to the worker was handed to another member of staff, who exited the area but the worker in question remained in the location. Using the Vismo solution, it took no more than a few minutes to resolve the situation and verify the team member was safe and did not require any assistance.  

Fortunately, the panic alert has not been activated, however, this feature provides confidence to Security Officers knowing that if they find themselves in a challenging situation where they feel unsafe, they have an alert button to hand that can be discreetly triggered and will instantly notify the Control Room who will call the individual and/or provide appropriate assistance.
